What things cost
Starting prices for the work people ask about most. Your tech confirms the exact price in writing before starting.
Prices are starting points. Venting, access, code updates and parts availability can raise them, and we say so before we start. New heating and cooling systems are on the Repair or replace page.

How we price
No hourly clock, no surprise at the end
We price repairs from a printed flat-rate book. After the diagnostic, you get the price for the whole fix, in writing, on your phone or on paper. If the job turns out bigger than it looked, we stop and call you before going further.
We don’t say “no hidden fees” and then leave you guessing. The only fees we charge are on this page.
- Service call applied to the repair when you go ahead
- Written price before work starts
- Pay by card, check or cash when the work is done
Pricing questions
How much is a service call or diagnostic?
$89 during office hours, $184 when it’s after hours. If you approve the repair on that visit, the $89 comes off the repair bill. You get a written price before any work starts.
Do you charge for estimates?
Replacement estimates for a furnace, air conditioner, heat pump, boiler or water heater are free and in writing. Diagnosing a broken system is a service call. We also give free second opinions on repairs another company has quoted.
Do you charge by the hour?
No. Repairs are priced from a flat-rate book, and you approve the price for the whole job before we start. If the job grows, we stop and call you first.
How can I pay?
Card, check or cash when the work is done. We can also email a secure link to pay by card from your phone, and the office can take a card by phone.
Not sure what you need?
Describe the problem and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a repair, a tune-up or time to replace.
