A Saturday-morning leak, a new 50-gallon tank by noon, and the old one gone.
The old tank was 14 years old and leaking at the base. Hard well water had scaled the inside.
Aaliyah drained and removed the old tank, installed a new 50-gallon gas water heater with new fittings and a relief line, pulled the permit and tested the venting.
The result
Hot water by early afternoon. We suggested a water softener at the next visit.
