A technician in a face mask checking refrigerant pressure with gauges at an outdoor air conditioner

A 20-year-old central air system replaced with a smaller, quieter unit after a load calculation showed the old one was oversized.

The old system was a 4-ton unit in a house that needed 2.5. It cycled constantly and the second floor was never comfortable.

Beth ran the load calculation, sized a 3-ton unit, sealed a handful of duct leaks in the attic and set it all up with a new thermostat.

The result

A lower bill, a quieter system, and a second floor that finally cools.
